I spent a lot of the week drilling spins and getting to know my edges. I feel like with spins, my progress has been 2 steps forward, 1 step back. I’ve been able to unlock 4 rotations, and I can do 2 more consistenly. I was even able to unlock this sensation of levitation while spinning! But now that I’m hungry to just do them perfectly, consistently, I am frustrated by the fact that my batting average is quite low. I eke out 1 ok spin out of 10 shitty spins. I do think my quads are tired both from spins and edging, so maybe I need to just step away from heel-toe spins for a bit and get out of my head like I did with dribbling.
Edge practice is quite a workout! I’ve been following Nicole Fiore’s drills, and my quads burn from just doing 3 min of pushing exercises. I wish I had circles to practice against! I also tried this nifty inside edge practice I found on reddit. The big trick for me was to keep the leg under my body/my center.
