Day 27

Took a day off on June 8 to celebrate my husband’s and my birthdays with my parents and his sister who happened to be in town amidst her international travels. We went out for Korean barbecue and I definitely felt sluggish today as a result!

I was feeling shy and decided to stick to small space skating in my apartment. The guys in the building like to rib me about my roller skating anytime they see me in the rec room. Apparently, kids have been complaining about my skating saying that I’m a menace?! What about the balls they are throwing around in the room that have sometimes hit me?! Ugh, kids. How ironic that I am trying to be a mom!

Today, I focused on different drills for dribbling, spinning, and dancing. For dribbling, I was focused on being able to bring my back foot forward (on my front wheels) while rolling the forward foot back on all for wheels. I’m still struggling with shifting the weight between feet though. I find that I tend to lean forward, and it throws my balance off. Something to continue working on.

I tried Dirty Deborah’s dance drill. Actually, it was probably my third day trying it, but today was the first time it kinda clicked in terms being able to go from side surf position to locking my toes inward. Apparently this is supposed to help me do crazy legs down the road.

My inner thighs were killing me by the time I finished skating!.
